Birthday Shennanigans….

what can i say, i’m a lucky man. from the early morning birthday serenade from my two little men, to the moment we fell into bed full, tired and more than a little tipsy, it was about as good a day as you could responsibly hope for.

some highlights include: the only omelette in Goa made with imported cheese (thanks to the missus), a couple hours tooling around the interior on the bike, a rub down from Dr. Johnny (on the cement floor of a disused hut – he forgot to mention that his place with the table still wasn’t ready), a lovely cake and presents (after countless fakes, a real pair of Aviators!), a slap up dinner of red snapper and Kingfisher, and a late night stroll down Palolem beach.

big, and special thanks to the missus, who carries on her family tradition of magicalised birthdays, and a big thanks and shout out to everyone for all of the well-wishes that came in throughout the day.

miss you all.

xx

Ba and I raised a glassa red in your honour over dinner at the Harbord House on…..you guessed it!…..on Harbord St. with real British pub ambience……………..We were with you in loving and laughing spirit……….remembering so many family ‘funnies’……..:)

You are truly an extraordinarily blessed young man! Yes, you still qualify for ‘young’ for one more year! [just joking Nissy!]

    with Lotsa Love……always,

Well Happy Birthday Mr J! Bar the somewhat discomfiting scene of being on the receiving end of “a rub down from Dr. Johnny on the cement floor of a disused hut”, that sounds like the best day ever. And is that a tantalising peek at the Great Canadian Novel under the omelette? xx

Now you and Jack Benny are 39!! And if you don’t know Jack Benny then you are not as old as I think!

well, there was a mattress between myself and the cement floor. just not quite sure who’s it was or where it came from. i tried not to dwell on that part.
as for the sub-omelette scribble. we’ll just call that an early placemat. hope all good with you F! xx

i confess, Pops. i had to look up Jack Benny. i was about to have a quiet word with myself for yet another huge hole in my comedy knoweldge, but then i saw that he passed away in 1974, at the age of 39 no less, and thought i could probably forgive myself. unlike Jack, it looks like i will be turning 40 next year…

    Hey my Jay!

Are you aware that Jack Benny was eternally ’39’….haha…..or….knowing you….are you just teasing us all with your characteristic clever wit! If so, BRAVO! haha

Am looking forward to ‘tracking and travelling” your Enfield adventures with you vicariously in the following days! I’m impressed and happy that you ‘did your thing’ without serious incident.

    My firstborn is too! haha

    Love
    Rach
